Bunny Hop – A Tradition of Giving
People who work in the apartment industry touch lives of millions of families across the country. From maintenance repairs and amenity additions to resident functions-apartment professionals provide the most basic human needs through housing but a greater impact can be made by garnering a sense of community among the families who live in local apartments.
This is the story of Victoria Cowart and her 13 year community service project. Victoria is a prominent member of the national apartment industry and successful asset manager for communities in Charleston, South Carolina. She goes over and above the duties of her paid employment by contributing to the lives of children at the local orphanage.
She accomplishes this work by pooling resources locally and nationally. She has put together a group of people over the years who work to identify children in the local orphanage, shop for gifts which are appropriate for their age and delivering them at Easter in full costume.
This work is an example of how the simple efforts of apartment professionals touch the lives of many: the children and staff at the orphanage as well as the volunteers and donors who contribute resources to make it possible. Our hope in creating this film is that others in our industry would examine their own passions and resources to find how their work can make a great impact on people and families around them.
